So I am in a school in the Bronx and all of a sudden there is a lockdown.
“ Fifty Cent is shooting in the neighborhood!”

Three minutes later…Lockdown is over. 

“ Fifty Cent is shooting his television show “POWER” in the neighborhood at a local daycare!”

Cultural Responsiveness…

Having a clear understanding of the cultural slang that our students use is essential. The formal word is “filming” but they say “shooting.”

What are other lessons that can be gained from this experience?
